How it started

Hi there! I’m Cody – Thanks for popping into my little corner of the internet!

Like so many others, I’ve worked for someone else my entire life. As the years went by, a question I’d long asked myself became more and more urgent: how long must I continue this way until I feel I’m allowed to do what makes me truly happy?

Fast forward to the summer of 2021. I was burnt out and depressingly unfulfilled, and after months of self-reflection and hearty talks with my closest folks, I decided to take a leap of faith. I resigned from my corporate bank job and jumped into the unknown – it felt like I had a window of opportunity to see if the world would be receptive to what I had to offer creatively, and I didn’t want to look back later and say “But what if I had tried??”

And here we are!

I’ve always been happiest in a creative space and feel the most inspired when given the chance to figure out how to make a unique concept become reality. Whether it’s crafting a personalized clay miniature, working on digital illustrations, or finishing the draft manuscript for a book I’m writing with my sister (it’s a satirical picture book for adults – you’re gonna LOVE it!) – I’m most content when I’m immersed in the process of bringing an idea to life.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I currently reside in Oakland with my partner Jeff; when I’m not hunched over my latest project or assisting with a clay class for kids, I’m likely either listening to a “This Is Important” podcast episode while walking our dog Belle, binge-watching Westworld for the zillionth time, or out for a good meal with my mom.
